Specialty Maples supplies luthiers with components to make high quality instruments. These birdseye, curly, and figured maple tonewoods are very unique. We hand-select logs that have been harvested in the rugged natural beauty of atlantic Canada and New England.
Richard Paul started Specialty Maples in a small mill located on St. Mary’s First Nation in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada in the mid 1990s. Most of our components have been used to make acoustic and electric guitars from two of the world’s most respected brands, Gibson and Fender.
The most common components we manufacture are backs and sides for acoustic guitars, as well as necks for both acoustic and electric guitars. As well, we manufacture spruce tops and thermally modified guitar components.
